Vladyslav Kurilets

Bassoonist


Vladyslav Kurilets is an accomplished Ukrainian bassoonist currently pursuing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Robin O’Neill. Hailing from Ivano-Frankivsk, he began his musical training at the age of 10 at the Denis Sichynsky Music College before furthering his education at the Reinhold Glière Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music and the Lviv National Music Academy.

An award-winning musician, Vladyslav has garnered prizes at prestigious national and international competitions, including Spring Symphony (Czech Republic), Razzonto di Primavera (Italy), and the All-Ukrainian Wind Competition named after Vyacheslav Starchenko. He was also a participant in the 9th International Bassoon Competition "Gioachino Rossini" in Pesaro, Italy.

As an active orchestral and chamber musician, Vladyslav has performed with the Lviv Organ Hall Symphony Orchestra and toured the UK in productions of *Tosca*, *Madama Butterfly*, and *Carmen*. He is currently a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and, in 2023, took part in the Young Euro Classic Chamber Music Academy in Berlin.

During his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, he has performed under the batons of distinguished conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, Sir Mark Elder, Roderick Cox, and Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider. Additionally, he has honed his craft in masterclasses with renowned bassoonists including Laurent Lefèvre, Joost Bosdijk, Nikolaj Henriques, and Julia Price.
