Together, these works span the cycle of human response to trial: defiance (Christ lag), tribulation (Wir müssen) and thanksgiving (Nun danket), and. They show how music, across a millennium of history, has given voice to suffering while carrying forward the will to endure and to hope.

By reimagining these works for orchestra today, we affirm that same resilience in our own time, in solidarity with all those displaced by conflict.
